We intended to do 22 miles today for our last long run for the Las Vegas Rock and Roll Marathon. It was a cool morning, but dry - this is unusual for this time of year; it always rains in Portland! The rain gods were smiling on us as we got the run in with only a couple of raindrops.
It became apparent early on that 22 probably wasn't going to happen; we all decided we would be happy with 20, we ended up with 19.7 which I am happy with. It wasn't my best long run, but neither was it my worst. It's now officially taper time; only 2 weeks but I think it will be o.k. I had been hoping to qualify for Boston at Vegas, although it was a long shot. But now that registration has closed for Boston some of the pressure if off; I think I definitely have a PR in me though.
Have a great weekend!
I am sooo anal.. I will run around my cul-de-sac to get to a number. My husband laughs at me. Congrats on gutsing it out for 19.7. BEst of luck with a BQ in Las Vegas. Will add you to my High Five calendar.
