I had a great 10-mile run this morning, the conditions were perfect; which in Oregon this time of year means DRY.
I'm totally conflicted about what to do for my marathons over the next six months; I have lots of things I want to do and I just can't decide which is more important.
I want to become a MANIAC I can do this by running the following marathons:
Eugene May 2
Newport June 5
Missoula July 11
This is the lowest level of entry into this "elite" group.
But......what is more important; becoming a maniac or qualifying for Boston? I know that I have to qualify for Boston at the first race, Eugene, otherwise the toll of three marathons in three months will take its' toll on me. I have 8:00 minutes to go to make my BQ; I am running faster, but is it fast enough and can I sustain it over 26.2 miles?
I want to run an ultra this year as well; if the lottery gods are good to me I will run the McKenzie River Trail Run the race is in mid-September. Finally, the plan is to run the Philadelphia Marathon in November. This is a lot of racing for one year; 4 marathons and one ultra. It is nice to have decisions like this to make.
Marcia asked me to share 10 things that make me happy so here goes:
1. My family
2. Reading
3. My dear Friends
4. Sore muscles after a great workout
5. Running
6. Accomplishing a goal
7. Helping others accomplish a goal
8. Random Acts of Kindness
9. Paying it Forward
10. The beauty of Oregon

ReplyDeleteThanks for tagging me :)
ReplyDeleteOK I looked into being a maniac, but then I realized I had to pay to be a part of the club. LOL!!
Too bad your BQ time is different than mine, we could team up in eugene.
